I'm not one to have celebrity crushes, but recently, this man has captured my heart.

Please, name one female, Christian, football fan that does not find this man attractive. He loves God, he's saving himself for marriage and he's single. We'd be a perfect match. My birthday is coming up soon and I would not be disappointed if my only present was to go on a date with Tim Tebow. Please, someone make this happen! 

One of my favorite classes this semester is French Canadian Lit. I know, it sounds awful, but the conversations we have in that class make it entertaining. For example, today my professor explained that he had a band-aid on his hand, because his cat bit him, Judas the cat. I found the name very fitting and hilarious.

Sometimes we talk about what God is doing and how he is working in our lives. Today, the best part was getting to talk about my internship in France this summer. I'm working for GO InterNational by being an ambassador of sorts. I'm partnering with several different ministries in the Paris area and seeing how GO can help.

I am so excited about this incredible opportunity that God has provided for me. I'll write more later about how he has perfectly orchestrated this internship. Quiet Time

In my post I wrote this past summer called "Resting," I wrote about how I don't take time to rest. When I try to, I can't stay still long enough to actually do so. I recently came to the realization that I don't take time to be quiet and to listen as a result, because there never seems time.


I gave myself a challenge.This week I decided that I was going to turn off the radio on the way to work and have my 30 minute morning commute be in silence. It was awkward. The first 2 days I was uncomfortable. I felt so vulnerable to God, because I was afraid I was going to hear something that I didn't want to hear. Something that would alter what I have planned for my life. Maybe he would ask me to step out of my comfort zone, do something I had no desire to do, like drop out of college. Move somewhere cold where there is no sweet tea. Lots of ridiculous thoughts crossed my mind Monday and Tuesday morning. I couldn't get over the lack of noise, until Wednesday, when I finally shut my mind off and just listened.


What did I hear? At first, just the semi that I couldn't seem to pass due to other people trying to pass him. Then, God just comforted me. He didn't give me any direction or life altering plan, just praise. It was almost like he was just patting me on the back saying, "Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you. I can't wait to show you what I have planned for you next. I love you."


Do you ever take time to just sit and be quiet to see what God has to say to you? What has he said? 

Project 1: Gallery Wall

Last summer I got on what I like to call the "Pinterest project kick." I was overwhelmed with all of the amazing DIY projects on Pinterest and wanted to do every single one of them. My roommate came to visit me and we decided to start some. We finished one, but the other two were never finished, due to my negligence.

Since I'm home for one more week, I decided I'm going to spruce up my room by hanging a gallery wall above my bed. After I graduated high school, my mom made me a map collage of different places that I have been/places I want to go, with Kentucky in the center and a compass rose by Lexington. I love it dearly and want to incorporate it within my wall gallery.

I asked my mom where to get some frames. Little did I know that our office closet was full of them. I chose some that I want to use and have begun picking out pictures to put in them. I found the absolute best paint color and am super excited about it. Have you seen the Pier One Christmas commercial? There is a lady shopping and as she begins to walk by the cocktail glasses they begin giggling and saying "party!" so she buys them? That's how I felt at Walmart while picking out paint.

My goal is to finish it by Friday. I'll let you know how it goes.

New Year, New Blogging

To all my faithful readers (all 18 of you), I am terribly sorry for not posting since September. I have made a resolution to be a faithful blogger and I am excited about it.

To catch y'all up on last semester, it was great, wonderful, grades were good, I threw the first all school dance, grew in my relationship with Christ and am looking forward to next semester.

Now to 2012:

My friend Jane and I road tripped to Corbin to visit our friend Sharayah. We ushered in the new year watching the ball drop in Barbourville, KY. That's right, southeastern Kentucky has its own glowing glittery ball it drops, while counting down to the new year. It was no Times Square experience, but free hot chocolate and good company made it just as enjoyable.

On New Year's Day, we went to church, came back and did a photo shoot, courtesy of Sharayah's younger sister. Afterwards, we enjoyed every model's favorite diet foods, Chinese and pizza, while watching Tangled. I'd say 2012 is off to a great start.
